June 22, 2021 at 7pm - 8pm Eastern Time (US & Canada)
Recently dubbed the “one reform to save America” by New York Times’ David Brooks, Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) might help fix our troubled political system. In the last few years, Maine and Alaska became the first states in US history to enact RCV statewide. Now, communities all over the country are discussing this reform, which has been enacted in multiple levels of government in 27 US states.
In this talk, national experts from Rank the Vote will explore how our current “plurality” voting system fails us, and how Ranked Choice Voting is transforming how voters vote, how candidates run, and how voting can be optimized for better representation. We’ll explore some research to round out our understanding of the reform’s impacts, and learn about the exciting ways you can help pave the way for a renaissance in American democracy.
